How's Your Baby?

Luke 1:41-44

41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said,"Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

NKJV

I like this passage of scripture; if you listen closely you can hear the Sprit of God speak to you.

You see both John the Baptist and Jesus were born with purpose. In the wombs of Mary and Elizabeth were concealed a catalysts for change. Inside of the babies were sealed their instructions and assignments for life. In this story we also learned that purpose recognizes purpose. (Remember how John recognized Jesus from within Mary’s womb).

I want to convey to you that all of us are born with a purpose and an assignment. That assignment works like a beacon; guiding you to your destination. You simply will not be satisfied doing anything else; other than what you were born to do.

Religious leaders have taught us for years how wretched we were and how undeserving we were of God’s grace. This emphasis has eaten away at the value of many devoted follower’s purpose and assignment. This has caused many Christians to just sit back and do nothing and spend most of their time fighting condemnation.

I want you to consider a word that we are all familiar with but in a different setting. The word is deliverance. Most of the time when deliverance is mentioned in a Christian setting it refers to demonic activities. I want us to think about it as deliverance relates to childbirth.

When a woman gives birth to a child, she goes into what is called a delivery room. The reason she is in the delivery room is because she is pregnant and it is time to deliver the baby. We easily understand delivery in that setting, but the reason delivery is encompassed in salvation is because we are pregnant with purpose and assignment from birth. The problem with this is that most people are unaware and search outside of themselves for significance. No one understands your assignment; except God gives them a little light regarding it. This is why it is dangerous to depend on someone else to help you discover your purpose and assignment.

A Good church should be like a birthing center that delivers hundreds of babies. Unfortunately, many are more like abortion clinics that destroys the babies.

I want to leave you with this thought. How is your baby? Your baby is your purpose, assignment, dream, etc? It was placed in you from inception. Have you check lately for movement?

If you have not detected signs of life lately, perhaps you are not around others who have discovered their purpose. You see purpose acknowledges purpose.

Don’t allow anyone to abort your dream. If it honors God, it came from Him and He expects you to fulfill it.

Paid In Full

I recently made a trip to Dallas Texas and visited the area for 7 days. It was a pleasant trip, but the temperature was constantly over 100 degrees.

While sitting in my motel room I was reminded of a story I heard years ago about a man and a train ride.

The story is about a man who as a boy loved toy trains and played with them. This love for trains prompted this man to desire to actually ride a train across country. His problem was train tickets were expensive. This desire to ride the train led this man to save money so he could ride the train. This was like his life long mission.

After several years of saving, the day came when he had enough money saved up. He then proceeded to purchase his ticket. After successfully acquiring a ticket he went home and packed clothes for his several days trip across country. This gentleman spent all his savings on his ticket and therefore knew he needed to pack food for this trip. The only thing he could pack was cheese and crackers and nothing else.

The next morning he arrived early at the train station and boarded the train with his luggage. The train slowly starts heading from one coast to the other coast. After several hours on the train, it was lunch time. This gentleman did not come to lunch. Some folks thought he must be sleeping and did not bother him. Later on the train it was time for dinner and they looked to see if this man was going to join them for dinner. The time for dinner came and went and no sign of this man for dinner.

Several other passengers on the train were just occupied with the fact that this man did not come to any of the meals. Some thought he might have been sick, timid, or perhaps he was just arrogant and did not want to be bothered with them.

A lady from this group was tired of speculations and decided she would find out for herself. She went to the cabin the man stayed in and knocked on his door. The man came to the door and said, hello, how can I help you” she replied, we have had several meals and notice that you have not attended any of them. We were concern and wanted to make sure you were okay. The man replied, “Thanks for the concern, but I am okay. I simply spend all my money on the ticket for this trip. I did not have enough to purchase meals and have remained in my cabin eating cheese and crackers”.

The lady looked at him with a perplexed look and said did you not know that the meals were included in the ticket price?

This man is like a number of Christians. They settle for less not understanding that Jesus death on the cross and resurrection covered everything. The price was paid in full for all your needs to be met.
